Announcement: Liga Gila Edition Two!
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Liga Gila! Edition Two. We will commence throughout July 2018 at UM Park, Bangsar.
Since the last Liga Gila match night, the organizing committee had a number of discussions on how to improve the Liga Gila experience. We embrace the spectrum of feedback that was given to us by everyone.
1. Technical Revamp
A number of technical items that will be different from Liga Gila Edition One, that will be put in place for Edition Two onwards. Each match-night will be from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at UM Park, Bangsar. Instead of three match nights, there will be four match nights instead, covering the whole month. The format of three teams will remain but the size of the team will increase from 17 participants to 24 participants. How to participate in edition 2, will be shared in a later paragraph.
1.1 Rational
The rational for the increase in size of the team as well as increase of the hours is that the participants from Edition One wanted more playing time on the field. After an extensive research and development, we discovered that increasing the hours as well as the size of the team gives more opportunities for the participants to play more on the field as well as provide a flexibility for most participants. Flexibility, as we discovered that some participants work late or have to go through an extensive amount of traffic, arriving at about 8:30 PM / 9:00 PM. These people unfortunately could not play as much as the previous timing ended at 9.30pm sharp. This also applies to those who have to go off early despite coming early as they would preferably head off at 10 pm as they take the public transport (which generally closes at 11:00 PM), have family responsibilities, and professional curfews.
In that, it is the responsibility of the managers to organize the team, in who will play in which time frame (8:00 PM - 9:30 PM / 9: 30 PM - 11:00 PM), and importantly, give a minimum playing time to each respective participant. We aim and hope that each participant will get on average about 50 minutes on the field.
1.2 Format
Each team will play four matches per-match night. Each match will be 25 minutes each. One match night will consist of 6 games.
Game 1 : 8:00 PM - 8:25 PM - Team A v Team B
Game 2: 8:30 PM - 8: 55 PM - Team B v Team C
Game 3: 9:00 PM - 9: 25 PM - Team C v Team A
Game 4: 9:30 PM - 9:55 PM - Team A v Team B
Game 5: 10:00 PM - 10:25 PM - Team B v Team C
Game 6: 10:30 PM - 11:00 PM - Team C v Team A
1.3 Photographers
As it was heavily requested, we are working tremendously hard to acquire and field a minimum of three photographers for each match night.
2. Schedule
2.1. Dates
The schedule for Liga Gila Edition 2 is as follows;
July 9, 2018 - Monday - 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM (8:00 PM Kick Off)
July 16, 2018 - Monday - 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM (8:00 PM Kick Off)
July 23, 2018 - Monday - 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM (8:00 PM Kick Off)
July 30, 2018 - Monday - 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM (8:00 PM Kick Off)

3. Theme
In each Liga Gila edition, we will use a theme to create excitement as well as a sense of identity for the teams. In Edition One, we used sports teams from films, Mighty Ducks from the Mighty Ducks Trilogy, The Titans from Remember The Titans, and Tune Squad from Space Jam.
For Edition Two, the theme will be Pixar movies; Incredibles, Monsters Inc, and Toy Story.
4. Participation
4.1. Player participation
From the feedback we received from Edition One, almost all of the participants want to maintain together as a team as they want to continue their development and strengthen their chemistry. In that, we have granted them that for as we notice a tenacious commitment from a group of strangers turned into friends. As we don't want to break up a group that is just starting to understand each other on and off the field, this was the best course of action to take.
However, there are spots to fill in each team, a total of 21 new participants, seven new participants for each team. You can sign up here.
On Wednesday night, 9:00 PM to Friday afternoon 3:00 PM, we will process the sign up sheet and conduct a randomized draft. You will be notified of your pending participation on Friday evening, thorough email or other messaging methods.
In the event you are not drafted into Liga Gila Edition Two, you will be immediately put into our guest players list. Meaning, if a team does not have a complete squad for a match night, a respective manager will contact you just like how we have done so for edition one. 4.2 Fee-
Entrance fee - RM10 per-person - for administration and commitment purposes - To be paid by the first match night.
Match night fee - RM24 - RM29 per-person - per-match night- Depending on how many people attend the match night. Full attendance means a lower match night fee - Inclusive of Field rental, referee, and water. Reminder, we aim for each player to get 50 minutes average playing time, from the 30 minutes +/- of each participant had during Edition One.
Guest p layer fee - RM5 per-match night.
5. Structure
5.1 Laws of the game
1. Play for fun, play to sweat it out, play safe emotionally, physically and mentally. Learn about the game, learn about each other, and learn about yourself through football during Liga Gila! Celebrate the game!
- Player breaking Law 1, participation will be investigated by a panel of the managers, match commissioner, referees, and league organizers.
- Standard International Football Association Board Laws Of The Game 2017/2018 Applies by the referees.
5.2 Management structure of Liga Gila
Organizer - padangbolasepak.com will be organizing the league.
Match Commissioner - padangbolasepak.com will appoint a few steadfast individuals from the community built over the past year who will keep track of each match night as well as to ensure collection of payment to the venue and referees are met with ease.
Managers -padangbolasepak.com will appoint a consistent manager from the community built over the past yea, they will emphasize about the importance of having fun! Also will make sure to organize the teams.
Referees -Super Bobai Cup, have gracefully assisted in securing a set of qualified and understanding referees.
Photographers - padandbolasepak.com will provide action photos of the matches as well as portrait photos of each participant.
6. Future
We highly acknowledge the massive response of people who are interested in playing Liga Gila but weren't drafted for the previous edition and potentially for this upcoming edition. We hope sometime in 2019 and forward, we are able to increase the size of the participants as well as expand to other strategic locations so we can get more people to join in the fun and be apart of a growing community.
However, in order to expand, we must work on the current set of resources we have at the moment. Accordingly, we will grow to serve more participants. Please allow us the to work and get this current Liga Gila formula optimum before we make that jump to expand further to serve you better!
