#KamiReviewKan: New Balance Tekela 1.0: Teka-Teki-Lah
Recently found out why my friend from the United States was so late on sharing me his review on the New Balance Tekela 1.0. Simply he loves the football boot. Read it to believe it, enjoy!
"The New Balance Tekela 1.0 is my current football boot preference. A love child of the Nike Tiempo Legend 7, Adidas Ace 17.1. and the PUMA Future 18.1. It is insanely genius how good this boot perform each time I play in them.
For context I play in left midfield, in a four-four-two formation with the guys and girls I play pick up with. Despite being one of the faster player on the field, I always opt out for a control and agility built football boots. Because I love to pass a lot with my teammates so we can together create a pattern of diverse additionally creative play. And the Tekela 1.0. fits my desired specification.
New Balance advertised it as a boot “for the innovators who use speed and maneuverability to change the outcome of games.” The upper is a full foot micro fibre with dynamic kinetic stitch embroidered bands. With a huge part of that, the touch on the ball is weaving-ly silky for a synthetic football boot. Passing the ball be it short passes on the go and those diagonal balls across field feels naturally comfortable. Receiving the ball, on to feet or on the run, feel sensationally gripped, due to the part of the construction of the upper.
As a player who plays on both artificial and natural football pitches. It can be worn on both AG and FG pitches, due to the studs configuration that contains conicle studs. So maneuverability won't be an issue. As well as pressure on your joints when playing on artificial pitch won't be huge impact issue. However always learn on how to get your technique right when playing football regardless, so you won't get hurt easily.
The high cut part of the boot is a seamless transition from foot to boot. Adidas Copa 18.1 tried to do something similar but it gets in the way. But on the Tekela, it is a none issue.
Only complaint, would be durability, but it isn't a negative for the boot, cause I play insanely amount of times on artificial pitches. After 10 games of 50 minutes, could notice a lot of wear on the tip and side of the boot, that connects between sole plate and the upper.
It is a highly recommended football boot if you want to try something really different. Khal has mentioned in the past that a lot of people in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya plays a lot on artificial pitches. With that in mind, it is a recommended boot to play on with."
