Welcome back to #KamiReviewKan! Where we review the latest football boots, so you can get a sense of the football boot in question. Now to the review! Special thanks to a good friend of mine from abroad who has the chance to test out these two football boots, and wrote down what he thinks about them. Enjoy!

The following is the review of the Adidas Copa 19+ and the 19.1:

The Adidas Copa 19+ is not the first laceless leather football boot ever to be made. That honour goes to Umbro, with their Medusae 3 Elite that was launched back in early-middle October 2018. With that out of the way. Here we go!

Adidas Copa 19+

Listen I was tremendously skeptical about this concept. Maybe I am not a huge fan of laceless boots. As in the not so distant past with their Nemeziz 18+ and the recent Nemeziz 19+. With the addition of leather into the mix. I wasn’t sure that Adidas could pull it off. But they did pull it off nicely. Tremendous credit to Adidas for proving me wrong.

The fit and feel of wearing the football boots is comfortably plush and elegant. Did had a bit of a problem when I attempted to put them on as with most laceless football boots. Felt they could put some kind of external pulling system like with the PUMA Future 18.1 , the 2.1 and the PUMA One 1.

The lockdown overall felt comfortable even with the grip socks that I often wear. The feet doesn’t slide a lot despite having wide feet. However initially it does feel cramp, but as game by game went on the boot moulded to my wide feet. When playing a football match with this model, it felt secure and safe to play on. Stud pattern consisting of circular and semi-circular studs, which increases rotation during sharp turns. So in that you can play on both artificial and firm ground.

Weights in at 240 Grams.

Why did Adidas went in this direction. My theory is that they needed to make some noise since the relaunching of the Predator 18 line. The 19 Nemeziz and the X models didn’t really live up to the buzz. So they needed to innovate something. Additionally to rejuvenate the Copa line, which stagnated for quite sometime not.

Adidas Copa 19.1

In comparison, there is only a few. Like the mid foot and rear construction of the boot. 19+ uses primeknit and the 19.1 doesn’t. And of course, a lacing system. One huge thing I am happy is there is not ridiculous tongue getting in the way like the 18.1.

A direct rival to this model would be the Nike Tiempo Legend 7 Elite model.

Weight 249 Grams.

Wearing them in a few football matches, it feels better than the 19+, due to the lockdown I can secure with them.

Summary. I would take the 19.1 over the 19+. I am a traditional type of player I like my lacing system. As well it is a bit cheaper. But do not get me wrong. Both football boots are good. I just have my preference.

If you have a tremendously wide feet, before buying do test them out at a local store. So that you identity if it would give you foot cramp in the short or long run. Ask yourself, do you trust the boot to mould to your wide feet or not.

Also to note that in terms of playing them in the rain. The Copa 19 + and 19.1 consists of kangaroo leather with revolutionary Fusionskin technology, which reduces water absorption and offers comfort despite the light to medium weather condition.
