First off, I would like to thank the producer and host of the program, Bar None, Daryl Ong for the opportunity to share about padangbolasepak.com. And importantly to share about the recreational football movement, the community synergy, and the digital endeavour from us to contribute in Malaysian football.

I must admit, this was pointed out by several friends. I must confess, my friends. I have a Jimmy Fallon-esque annoying trait when during these media works. Where I laugh in the midst of things as well as cut things off from time to time. Trust that, I am working to improve these traits so that these media conversations can be better, like Kevin Smith level.

Speaking of Jimmy Fallon, I remember the time when Stephen Colbert was ribbing off Jimmy Fallon’s Ben & Jerry’s Ice, Late Night Snack. “You are like a Jimmy Fallon joke, halfway through you stop & laugh. And don’t finish.“

SEE!

What a habit! Noticed the habit for quite sometime. Will work on it to be better!

Back to the interview. One point that I prepared before going that I wanted to stress, is about education and awareness. The reason why the recreational football movement is taking its time. Is to be able to create a quality pool of participants in the community so that when we build it accordingly. People who join in will receive the best quality care when participating the programs. So as we go, it will be potent in all front. From playing, to the culture of the people, and so on.

Started from a Twitter account to engage with field football lovers back in 2014, Khalilul Rahman, the founder of a social web portal padangbolasepak.com, have been making use of his interest and passion towards building a sustainable recreational football ecosystem as well as aiming for homegrown football to be more appealing to Malaysians. Not only just giving updates and live-tweeting about the football matches, this football collective has also expanded and contributes to the community in many ways as they collaborates with a lot of associations in organising football leagues and events. In this week episode, Khalilul shares his thoughts on Malaysian football league, what padangbolasepak.com is doing on the ground to nurture the grassroots movement and also gives us sneak peek into what is coming in the future. - Produced by Daryl Ong.
