Voltra: Jet — Malaysia’s Bold Entry into the Carbon Plate Era

6 July 2025, Kuala Lumpur — It’s not every day that we get to witness a Malaysian brand step up to the line and take on the giants of performance footwear. But that’s exactly what happened when Voltra officially launched their first-ever carbon plate running shoe, the Voltra: Jet, at the scenic Heritage Valley in Kuala Lumpur.
Organised by Brand New Waves Running Club, the event brought together the beating heart of the running scene—everyday runners, seasoned athletes, media, and even national figures. Standing front and centre for the unveiling was none other than Khairy Jamaluddin, former Minister of Youth and Sports, who pulled the curtain on the Jet with the kind of pride you’d expect for something truly homegrown.
This isn’t just a flashy debut. With the Voltra: Jet, we’re looking at Malaysia’s second-ever carbon-plated shoe—built for speed, power, and pure performance. It’s light, it’s sleek, and most importantly, it holds its own.
Designed for elite racing, the Jet brings together a responsive midsole, full-length carbon plate propulsion, and featherweight construction that screams race day. Let’s just say, with how the community there tried it on, it’s more than hype. Every stride looked punchier, quicker, almost like the shoe was pushing them forward.
In a heartfelt moment, Voltra also took the time to give flowers to the local clubs that have been running alongside them since the early days. Tributes were given to community crews such as KJRC (Kelana Jaya Running Club), Rise and Shine Crew, All Day Sunday, and many others who’ve helped build a real grassroots culture around the brand. It was a reminder that while the shoe is about speed, the soul of it lies in the people who lace up day in and day out.
Voltra’s own Syaful Mohamed (PR & Marketing) and Asyraf Jebat (Content Creator) shared with us how the Jet had already made waves before it even touched Malaysian soil, having made its quiet debut during the 2025 London Marathon back in April 27. It was there that runners, both local and international, took notice. Word spread. Anticipation grew. And finally, the shoe is here.
The Voltra: Jet is set to drop this August, available online and at selected marathon events where Voltra will be present. Retailing at RM559, it’ll be a limited release, so if you’ve been waiting for a reason to race local, this is it.
