Empowering the Future of Malaysian Sports Analytics: A Look Back at MILO® Hidup Bola 2025

From 4 May to 9 August 2025, PadangBolaSepak (PBS), supported by our partners at Huddle, embarked on a nationwide mission to change the way grassroots football is documented and understood. Through the MILO® Hidup Bola 2025 tournament, we brought sports analytics to the forefront, collecting vital match data such as goals, shots, assists, and saves for every team and player, across all 14 states in Malaysia.

The Heart of the Project: Our 140-Strong Team

Behind the numbers was a team of 140 passionate individuals, one in each corner of the country, representing different backgrounds, experiences, and communities. More than just data collectors, they became part of the story, gaining real-world experience in sports analytics while contributing to the growth of Malaysian grassroots.

From Futsal Hub Ampang in Selangor to Arena Sukan MTLD in Sarawak, their dedication ensured every match was accurately recorded. This project wasn’t just about building statistics, it was about building people, giving opportunities, and strengthening the bridge between talent on the field and the possibilities beyond it.

Pioneering Data Collection for National-Scale Projects

Our collaboration with Huddle was key to making this possible. By using their in-house data collection app, our field teams worked seamlessly and efficiently, proving that large-scale, nationwide projects can be run with both precision and community involvement.

This effort showcased PBS’s capability to bring together manpower, technology, and purpose, creating a reliable blueprint for future sports analytics projects in Malaysia.

A Glimpse into the Future

MILO® Hidup Bola 2025 brought together hundreds of teams in the U-12 and U-16 categories, each match offering insights into the skill, creativity, and determination of Malaysia’s young players.

For PBS, this is only the beginning. The success of this model opens the door to expanding our reach beyond football, exploring how sports analytics can empower communities in other sports as well. Our commitment remains the same: to champion grassroots talent, create opportunities, and shape the future of sports in Malaysia.
