PBS Introduces Floorball to PA Seri Sarawak Youth
At PadangBolaSepak (PBS), our mission has always extended beyond the pitch. We believe that sport is a universal right, yet many young Malaysians rarely get the opportunity to step outside their usual environment to try something new.
On Saturday, 17th January, we took a step toward changing that.
In collaboration with Perak Floorball, PBS hosted an introductory floorball session at Pusat Sukan Universiti Malaya, for 17 spirited children from PA Seri Sarawak together with our PBS community.
More Than Just a Game
Floorball is a fast-paced, highly accessible sport, making it the perfect medium for our community outreach. For many of the participants, this was their first time holding a floorball stick or visiting the world-class facilities at Universiti Malaya.
The session, expertly led by the team from Perak Floorball, focused on:
Basic Fundamentals: Learning the grip, stance, and ball control.
Teamwork: Small-sided drills that encouraged communication.
Fun & Inclusion: Ensuring every child, regardless of initial skill level, felt the thrill of the game.
Inclusivity as a Priority
A core pillar of the PBS philosophy is identifying and bridging gaps. When introducing a new sport, we make a conscious effort to include those who are often underserved or overlooked. By providing the kids from PA Seri Sarawak with this platform, we aim to spark a lifelong interest in physical activity and build confidence through play.
Join Us in Making a Difference
This session is just the beginning. To continue providing these high-quality sporting experiences and to reach even more children across the country, we need your help.
PBS is actively looking for partners and sponsors who share our vision of social inclusion through sport. Whether it is through providing equipment, funding venue hire, or logistical support, your contribution allows us to invite more kids to the "padang" (or the court) and give them a Saturday they’ll never forget.
“Our goal is to ensure that no child is left on the sidelines simply because they didn't have the chance to try.”
