Malaysia Makes History! Teqball Squad Brings Home Two Bronze Medals from Asian Youth Games!
Have you ever heard of the sport called Teqball? If not, get ready! Because Malaysia's young athletes have just etched a proud moment into history at the Asian Youth Games 2025 in Bahrain!
Our national Teqball team managed to bring home two bronze medals. Get this: they are the first-ever official medals for Malaysian Teqball since their association was formed way back in 2018. This is seriously a massive win for the scene!
The Faces of Our National Pride
These historic bronze medals were won in the following events:
Men’s Doubles: Muhammad Amirul Danish & Muhammad Rahmat
Mixed Doubles: Muhammad Amirul Danish & Putri Zarra Arissa Mohammad Abdul Aziz
It looks like Muhammad Amirul Danish was absolutely on fire, contributing to medals in both categories! Huge congratulations to all the athletes, Coaches Hasnor and Fadzli, and Team Manager Dr. Hefni Rusli for all their hard work and dedication!
Built from Scratch, Powered by Grit
What makes this success even more incredible is that the Malaysia Teqball Association (MTA) has been operating as a self-funded group. They built this team from scratch with very limited resources, and the result? Two international medals! That truly shows the never-say-die attitude of Malaysia's young talents.
MTA President and Founder, Mr. Sivakumar Jakarathan (KJ), expressed his overwhelming gratitude and joy. He also appealed for key stakeholders to step up and provide support—specifically the Ministry of Youth & Sports (KBS), the National Sports Council (MSN), and potential corporate sponsors.
"With proper support, we can expand our athlete development program and prepare a strong squad for the upcoming 2025 Bangkok SEA Games and, most importantly, the 2027 SEA Games in Malaysia." — Mr. Sivakumar Jakarathan
We all know Teqball is a natural fit for us, as it's a super cool mix of sepak takraw, football footwork and table tennis precision. With the right support, this sport could easily become our nation's next big medal factory!
Let's all show our support and cheer for the continued success of the Malaysia Teqball team! Don't forget to share this article and back them on social media!
