December 16, 2016 was the first futsal session that we, 'proto' padangbolasepak.com started. Then officially on September 3, 2017, was the first football session that we have started. Since then, there has been a lot of messages from everyone of all walks of life. Wanting to join the sessions as well as, sharing their story about their respective football stories. Then accordingly a number of people started to ask for advice. Like how to find social teams to join, basically contact their respective Instagram accounts enquire. Where to watch amateur-community-social football league games, again their official social media accounts. And so on.

In correlation. Ever since I shared on Twitter and Instagram that I do suffer from depression, anxiety, and so on, which is one way or another related to football. There has been a number of people who ask for advice related to depression, anxiety, social phobia, self esteem issues which is related to football. And to be honest, I usually ask them to tell their stories on why so, so and so. These brave souls just need someone who they can talk to. Cause from time to time, I used to be in their position, I understand where most of them are coming from.

Before I go on further, know that if you are attempting to reach out to someone and that human being is not responding to you. Don't give up, there's always someone else out there who will answer the call and will lend their ear to you. Like the good human beings over at BeFriendersKL,

For emotional support, please call the hotline  603-79568145 or email sam@befrienders.org.my

Reason I have to state that, is because, I remember I was trying to reach out to a friend about 8 years ago for help. However, I realised that my friend had to take a different path going forward in her life and she was facing her own battles. So I didn't want to disturb her, so I went and asked help from another friend. Who helped me tremendously during that period of distress. So if the number is busy, work along the list of people you trust. That person will pick up, only a matter of time, don't you give in.

Back on track.

A number of messages that I usually receive in my inbox, usually people sharing me about their rejection in life that is highly correlated with football.

“Khal, I am dealing with rejection with my high school football team. How do can I deal with it?” - anonymous direct messenger.

“Know that, being rejected is kind of awesome. It means you are playing with your upper limits. A lot of people don’t get rejected at all, they are playing it safe. Keep on working hard, aim for the sky, the moon & beyond. Rejection is a big part of life, rejection also means, you are trying your butts off.”

That particular individual kept on going, he informed me that he found better joy playing football at the field near his housing area, and is pressing to earn a formal education at a local university in a field that he know he can contribute well to society. All the best brother, I hope you keep on pushing your upper limits and take breaks accordingly, being burnt out isn't fun.

All in all, do what makes you happy. When you are down, soul search, supportive people are there, reach out to them, and you will rebuild, redesign and reclaim in the upcoming chapter. Be it in football or in life. Please take good care of yourself, and aim for the sky, the moon, and beyond.
