#KamiReviewKan: Adidas X18.1
This has been a highly requested boot review since it launched recently. The Adidas X18.1. So my friend from the UK recently got his hands on them, and has written this review especially for you.
"Thank you Khal for this gracious oppurtunity to write this boot review of the Adidas X18.1 on your website, much love brother! On to the review!
First and foremost, it the Adidas X18.1 an upgrade from the Adidas X17.1? Not really. I will compare it as an upgrade to the Adidas F50 AdiZero football boots (2010) than the Adidas X17+ & 17.1. Why? For starters, I absolutely love the F50 AdiZero that was released back in 2010. In fact I bought 3 of them that I kept using up until they all got worn out in 2014.
The Adidas X18.1 is a much better speed boot compared to the 17.1 which was a bit more wider that I would have like due to my slim feet. I can confidently tell you that the materials used for the 18.1 is much nicer and feels much much much more lighter. Like my favourite of the F50 AdiZero.
In terms of the fit and feel, the X18.1 is miles ahead compared to big brother X18+. X18+ Laceless is a cool idea but I would love more lock down in the heel area, hence why I opted to go for the boot that has the lace of the X18.1. The sole plate to quote my favourite online store, "Bootframe based on the Drillium mindset, removing everything that is not essential to achieve the lowest weight possible. This enables you to achieve ultimate speed."
Durability wise if you are a type of player that plays a lot on astro turf or artificial pitch. A friend of mine has notice it has cracked around the area between the sole plating heel and the heel counter.
Playing in the Adidas X18.1, again feels like the modern and more complete version of the Adidas F50 Adizero. Running in term, feels light. Passing and shooting feels plush and padded. As a winger I enjoy greatly wearing the Adidas X18.1 compared to the Adidas X16.1 and the X17.1.
To note. I will not be surprise if Adidas decides to bring back the F50 Adizero within the next two years. Cause when Adidas decided to give the predator a break they brought in the Ace. Experimented with it and from the lessons learnt, applied the improvements into the Predator 18 series. They might do the same for a potential comeback from the Adidas F50 Adizero sometime towards the next Euro or the next World Cup.
In conclusion, if you loved the Adidas F50 Adizero or PUMA Evospeed or Nike Mercurial Vapor 11's, you will love the Adidas X18.1."
Hope that satisfied your craving ladies and gentlemen, thank you to my friend, Alac for shaing us his review on the Adidas X18.1
