Finally, am able to catch my breath after a lengthy non-stop period from this and that, personally and professionally. In that able to share that padangbolasepak.com is a community partner for the 2018 Edition of Selangor Champions League. Now, what does a community partner entails? Wait, before I proceed, a throwback to something I wrote back in 2016 after the 2016 Selangor Champions League Final.

“The Selangor Champions League task force basically identified the consistent issues plaguing the football scene & worked towards solving the issues in a bottom to top approach. It is a major bonus especially in Malaysian football, when you have footballing people, with the football mind, body & soul, actively engaging with day in & day out on the social league champions league. Tenaciously striving for the best for the football.” - Written back in 2016.

“The reception and feedback from the community towards the tournament has been very encouraging.  Unique and engaging content such as match articles, match video highlights, video punditry and video interviews of every game prepared by the committee and the community has created a professional atmosphere for players and fans. As a result, the number of visitors and viewership on SCL’s social media platforms and the website have been growing positively.” -SCL Media Release

Looking back, I am amaze on how far it has come since and continues to grow. And I am happy to still be apart and working with them to grow the football community in Selangor.

Now, as a community partner to the Selangor Champions League, like in 2017. We work to assist Selangor Champions League wherever we can with the resources and skill we have in our arsenal. Be it expertise in certain areas or physical man-power. As long as it adds and benefits the competition for the community going forward.

During the opening week, I am truly humbled at the amount of support and reception there is in the competition. Everyone behind the scenes is working tough to provide the best in quality of what we have to offer to the community. Not going to lie, it will be a long period for most of us. But we knew what we got ourselves into, and we are working together as a team to taking on this collective challenge for the community.

“Will something like this be a catalyst going forward? Absolutely. Will all good things, this will take time. Additionally, the participation of these elite social amateur teams is in line with Selangor Champions League’s tagline: “Earned. Not Given”, providing the highest quality of social football competition & entertainment for the footballing community.

Selangor Champions League have done their job for the 2016 inaugural season in a very committed & faithful way. Maintain those values for the incoming 2017 season & beyond. The future is definitely an exciting one.” - Written back in 2016.

The quote above that was written in 2016, it went well in 2017, and still going in 2018. And hopefully, beyond.
