Beyond the Ball: A Celebration of Sportsmanship and Creativity at PJPAC's Cinderella

While the lights shine brightly on the stage at PJPAC this June, the spirit of both sportsmanship and artistic expression takes centre court. PJPAC's debut production, "Cinderella: A Musical Comedy for the Whole Family!" isn't just a delightful show – it's a celebration of the values we share in both the athletic arena and the world of performing arts.

Directed by Joanna Bessey, 'Cinderella' also stars Brian Chan, Nabil Zakaria, popular comedians Joanne Kam and Papi Zak, Amsalan Doraisingam, Izzaldin K, Sheikh Irfan Mansor, Alya Amani, Arief Danial, Feyee Bethany, Janelle Arnelia, Julia Batrisyia, Swarna Naidu and Tan Guan Lin.

Like any successful team, this production brings together a talented cast, from rising stars to seasoned performers, all working towards a common goal – to create a fun and memorable experience for the audience. The story itself echoes the themes of perseverance, kindness, and teamwork, mirroring the lessons learned on the playing field.

More Than Just a Performance

PJPAC goes beyond the curtain call, offering a pre-show mini-exhibition that explores the history of pantomime, musical theatre, and Cinderella herself. This interactive element allows families to learn and appreciate the theatrical tradition, similar to how sports fans delve deeper into the history of their favourite games.

Dress Up and Get Involved!

Adding another layer of engagement, the Saturday matinee performance features a unique dress-up contest. Audience members of all ages can channel their inner athletes (think team jerseys!) or embrace the fairytale theme, injecting their own creativity into the experience.

A Winning Combination

PJPAC's "Cinderella" reminds us that the pursuit of excellence and the joy of artistic expression aren't confined to separate worlds. This production is a testament to the power of combining both, creating a winning combination for the entire community.

Don't miss your chance to be part of the magic!
