Empowering Communities Through Grassroots Football Coaching

The 30 participants of the FAM Grassroots Coaching Course

From 9 to 11 October, the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) organised the FAM Grassroots Coaching Course at 3K Sports Complex, Subang Jaya. The three-day course brought together 30 participants, including four representatives from the K2K Juara programme, representing PPR Lembah Subang 1 and PA Seri Selangor.

The course aims to equip participants with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to begin their journey in football coaching. Beyond developing their understanding of the game, it also provides participants with the opportunity to obtain a recognised coaching qualification, helping them take their first steps towards becoming grassroots football coaches.

For the K2K Juara programme, the participation of community members in the course marks an important step towards strengthening grassroots football from within. By equipping individuals from PPR Lembah Subang 1 and PA Seri Selangor with coaching knowledge and qualifications, the programme seeks to build local capacity and encourage greater community involvement in nurturing the next generation of football players.

Ultimately, investing in community coaches is about more than developing football skills. It is about empowering local communities with the knowledge, confidence and resources to create meaningful sporting opportunities for their own neighbourhoods.
