Pre-Season #1 & #2

“Regards to our recreational football programs. There has been an internal organisational restructuring ensuring efficiency. As well as will be beta-testing our programs internally. Once we are satisfied with the results we will relaunch our programs openly and steadily. Know this will take a lot of effort, time, and resources to get the programming right. All to ensure safety accessibility, affordability, joy, and respect for everyone participating with our programs. All in all, let’s hope 2022 will be good.” - September 27, 2021

AFC Women's Asian Cup : Malaysia vs Palestine

Looking back at the highlights again, I am writing this article here from the perspective of a football performance analyst that wants to better the scene, the culture and change the minds of all footballers especially in Malaysia. To me, Football IQ is the most important thing in football. Your physical gifts and technical superiority will help you succeed at the elite level of football, but football IQ and tactical awareness is what will make a normal player, a great player; and a great player, a legend.

AFC Women's Asian Cup : Malaysia vs Thailand

First of all, let me preface this article with the following statement: I know the girls gave it their all in the game vs a technically and physically superior Thailand and will give their 120% against Palestine as well. I have no doubts about that. But we all know that the current Malaysian sporting system is not built to develop athletic talent; it has ulterior motives which I choose not to cover in this article here.

Just A Few Things: Kuala Lumpur City Vs. Selangor

What a match for these two teams to kick-off the Super League restart. Both teams have been making efforts to restructure how they work behind the scenes. Their first encounter this season ended 1-1 and here, the result repeated itself in a physical and cagey match. Neither side looked dominant on one another as KL couldn’t take advantage of their attacks while Selangor didn’t make use of their possession that well.

The penultimate game of Group G pits Japan’s third place team Nagoya Grampus Eight (NGE) against Malaysia’s champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT). NGE is on a hot streak, winning all of their Asian Champions League group stage games so far without conceding a single goal.

JDT VS POHANG: AN ANALYSIS

Group G’s fourth game is a replay of the third game, which may cause some viewers to experience a sense of deja-vu. Korea’s Pohang Steelers FC faces off yet again with Malaysiaa’s Johor Darul Ta’zim, with the former delivering 4-1 drubbing, albeit with a bit (3 penalties worth) of luck. Can Malaysia’s champions overturn the deficit from the last game and earn their second victory? Or will Pohang steel (pardon the pun) victory from them?

JDT VS RATCHABURI FC: AN ANALYSIS

The second game of Group G in the AFC Champions League 2021 sees Ratchaburi FC (RBMFC) playing against reigning Malaysia Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT). Both teams are looking to get back into the groove after they lost their first game. It will be an interesting test for JDT as RBMFC are currently sitting 8th in the Thai League and having lost the last 4 our of 5 games, should be optimistic about getting a win here.
