Liga Gila Edition One: Prologue

As the inaugural season of Liga Gila approaches ever closer. The excitement from each participant in their respective team telecommunications group chats is ever growing. The core of that excitement, is the anticipation of people wanting to have fun on the football pitch. As that is the philosophy behind Liga Gila, bringing a group of people who loves the game. To play for fun, play to sweat it out, play safe emotionally, physically, and mentally. Learn about the game, learn about each other, learn about yourself through football during Liga Gila, and celebrate the game!

Over (Insert Three Digits) signed up for the inaugural season, men, women, fathers, sons, mothers, daughters, brothers, sisters, teachers, students, and so on. It was indeed difficult to draft only 51 participants for only 51 spots for edition one. Afterwards the organising committee drafted the 51 enlisted into three teams managed by a pair, a manager and a player / manager.

Before naming the teams, had to decide on a theme for the first edition. To create a sense of identity and resonance for the first edition and its participants. It was a consciously natural when the idea came in to name the teams based of sports teams from beloved movies.   For edition one, The Mighty Ducks from the Mighty Ducks Trilogy, The Titans from Remember The Titans, and The Tune Squad from Space Jam. All three teams, are raring to go for opening night!
