Where Is The Best Seat In The Stadium?

In the Malaysian football context. I am assuming those of you who are reading this, have had the experience of attending football games at one particular stadium or various stadiums. Be it, the Bukit Jalil National Stadium or the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam, Selangor,  and so on. Now the question I want to pose to you, the reader, where is the best seat in the stadium for a football game?

Each stadium, is different from the other stadium. The structure of the venue could be an oval shape like the one in Kota Bharu, Kelantan or with only two main stands like the Stadium Petaling Jaya, Selangor, highly modern like the national stadium in Bukit Jalil and so on. And each fan has their own criteria on what they want to get out of the seat. Like value for money, being close to the pitch, nearby a toilet, a place where a family can sit together, and so on.  

Consider this, where you really want to sit might be affected. It, of course, all depends on the stadium as well as the occasion of the football. Depending on the occasion, the management usually likes to fill up on the middle portion first, then slowly  fill up the side. Like during the latter stages of the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games Malaysia group matches. Why this happens? Cause we live in a free seating football environment. On the flipside, free seating is kinda fun especially when the venue is 2 / 3’s filled up.

Another thing that might affect on where you want to sit, are your friends;

“Saya nak duduk tengah!”

“Nak duduk dekat dengan Ultras.”

“Weh, tadi @TifoArena tweet, mereka akan duduk kat sana!”

And so on.

In a situation where you have to pick one. Just one view for each stadium for the rest of your life as a football fan, where would you pick? For me, personally, it would be, regardless, higher level or lower level. I love to sit around the corner flag area, purely because of the angle. I am not a fan of moving my head too much. Usually this seat is the least desirable, to which people who loves to cuss towards the field aren’t usually there too. It is a nice view and environment to enjoy the game. The biggest plus for sitting there, is the possibility of a post goal celebration towards you.
