The RIGHT Back | #KaranganBolaSepak

April 2015 Pahang signed Matthew Davies at age 20 yeas old. Coming over from Perth, Australia. Spent almost five years with Pahang while being a mainstay on the Malaysian national team first team squad and the under 23 squad. Nobody knew who he was when he came over. I even asked my former college mate who is living in Perth. But sadly he is not a football fan. So information on him was limited a part from maybe YouTube clips if I recall.

JOURNEY TO AFC CUP | #KaranganBolaSepak

Just A Few Things: Perak Vs. Kedah

Perak started off brightly in the first 25 minutes. It was all them as they had an estimation of 95% of attacks in favor of them within their time period while Kedah had trouble in getting through the Perak half. Then against the run of play, Kpah Sherman put The Eagles ahead after outmuscling Idris Ahmad and rounded Hafizul Hakim despite being alone against three defenders. It became more difficult for the Bos Gaurus when Kedah carved them up to score their second minutes after their first when Baddrol Bakhtiar’s incisive through pass found Fadzrul Danel who attacked the empty space inside the Perak box before he slammed it into the roof of the net.

Just A Few Things: Selangor Vs. Felda United

It’s been three weeks since the uproar surrounding the departure of B. Sathianathan as Selangor head coach. Michael Feichtenbeiner, the Selangor FA technical director is assigned as the caretaker head coach for the main team. Since he took over, there have been encouraging signs on the way Selangor plays. Just A Few Things - FELDA United Vs. Kedah

Yep. It’s that old tale of two halves. The first 45 minutes were very labored and it needed something to make it alive. The way both sides are set up is definitely a factor to why the match has not been eventful (Which we’ll go into later). Kedah definitely had most of the ball but failed to trouble that FELDA backline enough while Felda looked content to try and attack on the break, but they do have one problem which again, we’ll go into later. Eventually, we finally did see the first highlight when FELDA took the lead just before half-time.

Just A Few Things - Terengganu Vs. JDT

Terengganu’s defeat at Melaka last week made things more difficult for the Turtles to maintain a title challenge. Now, it’s surely all but over. A seventh league title in a row beckons for the Southern Tigers after a slim 1-0 win and in doing so, opened up an eight point-gap over 2nd place occupied by Perak after their 1-0 win over UiTM while Terengganu drops down the table. They can seal the title with a win over FA Selangor next week who is set to miss Brendan Gan due to suspension and also are greatly struggling to impose themselves should results elsewhere favor them starting with Kedah’s match with FELDA tomorrow.

Just A Few Things: JDT Vs. Perak

It looks like Mehmet Durakovic had to tweak his starting line-up due to missing livewires Careca & J. Partiban due to hamstring injuries according to Star reporter T. Avineshwaran. Instead of going with his usual 4-4-2 formation with two forwards, Durakovic opted to go for an attacking midfielder in Firdaus Saiyadi to support Guilherme De Paula. In a way, it’s a 4-2-3-1 but it was also a 4-4-2 with Firdaus seen beside Guilherme when out of possession.

Pitch-side: Johor and Selangor by Sivan John

“The real winner isn’t just going to be between Selangor and JDT. Instead Malaysian football will also stand to benefit the most. We’ve seen how other nations use their “Clasico” (if that’s what you want to call it?) as a sales pitch to promote their league. Time now the Malaysian Super League to have one of its own.”
