Rembat Episode 1

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Rembat podcast! A Malaysian football podcast by the quartet of Ahmad Muzammil of SemuanyaBOLA, Azfar of Tifo Arena, Henry & Izham of Sons Of Pitches, and myself your host. Where each episode, we take a topic and have a discussion about it as the football fans we are. The format of the podcast is presented because we would only have to be self conscious about the facts, ideas, and the manner we relay them to each other additionally to you tuning in.

In Episode 1, we discussed about how to raise the interest of Malaysian football to the fans and the general public. A topic that was raised up by Azfar. As usual we all raised up a lot of obvious factors and facts like. How the success of Coach Datuk K. Rajagobal rejuvenated the Malaysian football landscape. How JDT added a lot of spice into the league. Why aren’t other teams following that direct to be more competitive. And so on.

However, there is a point in the discussion that was raised up excellently, which was, we as fans, and everyone in football fails to realise, beyond the 90 minutes being played on the field. We don’t do anything else to help the football further. The majority of us only focus on that 90 minutes and the gossip that circulates around the clubs, that’s about it, which is unproductive and only benefits certain egos. Respective fan groups need to figure out, how to attract people beyond their circle to come and participate, a way is to create progressive programs for the community that the club falls under. Figure out an objective, mission statement, have goals, and, accordingly achieve them. Same goes to most football clubs in the nation.
