Through The Eyes: Liga Gila Edition One Round 3

You know, I should’ve used the PJ entrance a long time ago in order to get to UM Park. That’s because I arrived at the venue at just the right time: 15 minutes before 7 p.m.

To be honest, I feel the atmosphere was a little subdued. Maybe it’s just me. I think it’s because of the impending crunch day that was fast approaching (You all know what I’m talking about).

Still, I’m glad the players are still up for this. It’s the final round of this edition, so hopefully they will end this edition with a bang. Although the teams were missing a few players (Either couldn’t make it or they were late) when kick-off time arrived, especially the Ducks and the Titans. So, their respective managers stepped up to the plate.

First match though between the Tune Squad and The Ducks saw a goalless draw. Sadly, I couldn’t remember anything (You’ll understand later) other than Hazeem of The Ducks lost his boot in the air while kicking. Truly sorry to the respective teams involved.

Second match now between The Ducks and The Titans. It was a good game of football with Has of the Titans expertly chipping the ball over the keeper beautifully. Titans won this 2-1.

It was the third match that was the most eventful, especially about the final minutes of this period. One event sparked a chain reaction. Tune Squad decided to change their keeper: Henry Choo replaced by Rauf, who was subject of most of the banter. Score was 1-1 and Rauf dropped the ball allowed Titans to take the lead.

Immediately after the restart, Coach Shazwan caught the Titans keeper off his line and scored from his own half to equalize. Forget Muzzakir’s own goal last week, we got our worthy goal of the edition here. Unfortunately, Rauf dropped the ball again and Titans emerged as 3-2 victors.

A fine period to end this edition as we celebrate with Domino’s pizza. May we see each other again in July, everyone!
